You can make some friends in Game and add them in your friends list. You can see whether they are online and chat with them.
Press shortcut key "C" to open Community window and click on the Friend Tab. Here you can manage all about your friends.
Click on "Register friend" ; Input a name of character you wish to make friend with ; Click "OK" to send your request to the character ; 
The other player will recieve a request to make friend ; If the other player accepts, the character is added to your Friends List.
Another way to add a friend :
Hold "ALT" Key on your keyboard ; Move mouse over the character you wish to make friend with ; Left Click on the character ; Then a mini-menu appears. From the mini-menu select double Head Icon as show below. Click it to send your request to the character ; 
The other player will recieve a request to make friend ; If the other player accepts, the character is added to your Friends List.
Dopple click the name of your friend you want to chat and the name color becomes red. Click on "Chat" and a Chat Window appears at left. If you receive a chat from other friends, the Name Tabs of the friend appears at the left of screen. By clicking Name Tabs to open the chat window.
You can see the current status of your friends after their name. You can also change your status which will be displayed at your friends side . By clicking the box after "My Status" to select your current status.
Delete friend :
Dopple click the name you want to delete and the name color becomes red. Click on "Delete friend" to delete the friend from your friends list.
Add Group :
You can add a new Friend Group by clicking on "Add group".
Delete Group :
Dopple click the group name you want to delete and the name color becomes red. Click on "Delete group" to delete the group.
Change Group name :
You can change name of a Friend Group by clicking on "Group Name".
